Is 2016 Facebook Business Pages layout going to look soon like Facebook 2008 layout?
On Friday, July 8, 2016, we notice that our Facebook Page layout had changed. This came as a surprise as there was no one talking about it. So, we checked more business pages, and they had changed as well. We did notice that among our friends, only we (our account) could see the layout change on all pages we viewed.
Then we decided to deep search to find out if anyone else is reporting this change.
Here’s what we found
The change they notice is different than the change we have noticed. Facebook might be testing different layouts in different countries.
Local Business Domination (United Kingdom)
Serp Media (Canada)
G1.Globo.com had published an article on June 6, 2016, comparing the layout change to Orkut (a social networking website owned and operated by Google that was shut down in 2014)
Globo (Brazil) changes are similar to the changes we are experiencing.
Our thoughts on the changes
We are digging the new layout. It looks clean and gives a bit more room for design in the header. The call to action is bigger and more easily viable. The avatar has more design variables now that it is removed from the header.
We don’t like that there is less room for the business name. This will look messy with long names.
We did notice that this layout looks very similar to Facebook 2008 Layout.
What are your thoughts on these Facebook Pages layout changes, and are you noticing anything yet?
